Using LOTOS Patterns to Characterize Architectural Styles

چکیده
We show how the formal description language LOTOS can be used to deene software architectures and how patterns over LOTOS can serve to characterize architectural styles. We characterize styles by giving characteristics of the involved processes, a top-level communication pattern, and constraints that are suucient conditions for a concrete architectural description to be an instance of a given style. Three style characterizations are presented and illustrated by an example.
